Novel two types of β -agarases derived from a marinenbacterium screened and isolated from marine sediment, includenβ -agarase A of a molecular weight of about 90,000 andnβ -agarase B of a molecular weight of about 98,000.nβ -agarase A has an enzyme activity of hydrolyzing agarose andnporphyran mainly into neoagarotetraose and neoagaro hexaose.nβ -agarase B has an enzyme activity of hydrolyzing agarose andnporphyran mainly into neoagarobiose. These novel two types ofnβ -agarases are used for preparing an oligosaccharide and fornpreparing the protoplast of seaweed cells. |
