abstract An orthopedic casting tape comprises a substrate impregnated with a hardenable material, the substrate comprising a non-woven composite including a fibrous web (23) and a net reinforcing layer (20). The fibrous web comprises fibres having a length of from 6.35 to 102 mm and from 1 to 100 denier per fibre. The web has a weight of from 8.5 to 340 gm -2 , and the substrate has an extensibility of at least 5% in the length direction of the substrate.
