abstract Disclosed is a containment flap (10) for use on an absorbent article. The containment flap has a proximal edge (12) which is joined to the absorbent article and an opposite distal edge (14). The containment flap includes a barrier layer (20) which is stitched with at least one elastomeric thread (22) adjacent the distal edge of the containment flap. Also disclosed is an absorbent article including such a containment flap and a method of making such an absorbent article.
