The invention relates primarily to acarbose biosynthesis genes from actinomycetesnfrom Actinoplanes sp. SE 50/110 and its mutants, a method for isolationnof acarbose biosynthetic genes from Actinomycetes using a gene probe thatnof highly conserved protein regions of known dTDP-glucose dehydratase enzymesnwas derived for the discovery of the genes acbA (coding for dTDP-glucosensynthase), acbB (coding for dTDP-glucose dehydratase) and acbCn(coding for a cyclase, partly identical to AroB, bacterial 3-dehydroquinic acidnSynthases) or one or more acarbose biosynthesis genesnfrom Actinoplanes sp., and the use of the acarbose biosynthesis genes. |
