A flat flexible container forms a bioreactor for cellncultivation. The relatively small volume cell compartment isndefined between a gas-permeable outer wall and a semipermeablenmembrane while the large volume compartment for the culturenmedium is defined between the semipermeable membrane and anotherngas-permeable outer wall. Oxygen is supplied from the exteriornand outwardly diffusing carbon dioxide is removed. |
