Poly(ether-esters) can be made from tetrahydrofurans and polycarboxylic acids by using metal perfluoroalkylsulfonates as catalysts. Polymers, some of which are novel, useful as thermoplastic elastomers, spandex fibers or urethane rubbers can be made by reacting dicarboxylic acids containing functional groups with a tetrahydrofuran, especially tetrahydrofuran itself. |
