An organic electroluminescent (EL) element improved in luminescence life as compared with the conventional ones, and a novel arylenediamine derivative which can remarkably improve the luminescence life when used as a component of an organice EL element. Examples of the EL element are one containing at least a p-phenylenediamine derivative having at least six benzene rings and one containing at least a 4,4'-biphenylenediamine derivative having five biphenyl groups. Examples of the arylenediamine derivative are a p-phenylenediamine derivative having four biphenyl groups and a 4,4'-biphenylenediamine derivative having five biphenyl groups. |
