abstract A slide clamp (109,109') has an aperture for receiving an I.V. tube (26). The aperture has a tube occluding slot (111,111') and a non-occluding passage (112,112'). When a tube is received in the aperture, the tube can be slided, transverse of its length, between the slot (111,111') and the passage (112,112'). The non-occluding passage (112,112') has at least two spaced tube contacting points (122), such that when a tube (26) extends through the aperture, the outer diameter of the tube is no less than the distance between the contact points. This prevents movement of the slide clamp (109,109') lengthwise of the tube, unless a force greater than the force of gravity is applied to the clamp.
