titleOfInvention Method and apparatus for testing MAI (Mycobacterium Avium-Intracellulare) for antibiotic sensitivity
abstract In a method of testing the sensitivity of MAI complex organisms to different antibiotics or dosages, the MAI complex organism is introduced into each of a plurality of test tubes each containing a paraffin-coated slide and a sterile aqueous broth, successive said test tubes containing successively greater concentrations of antibiotic, the test tubes are incubated and observed at intervals for MAI growth on the paraffin-coated slides. Apparatus for carrying out the method comprises the test-tubes, paraffin-coated slides, and broth.
