abstract Disclosed is a method for producing a color filter having blue, green and red pixel patterns which comprises pattern exposing a silver halide photosensitive material containing photosensitive silver halide on a support, color developing the material in the presence of a developing agent and a coupler, and desilvering the material, wherein the green pixel pattern comprises a yellow component which has an absorption peak wavelength between 400 nm and 450 nm and satisfies the condition that when the absorbance at the peak wavelength is taken as 1, the absorbance at 500 nm is 0.35 or less, and a cyan component which has an absorption peak wavelength between 630 nm and 700 nm and satisfies the condition that when the absorbance at the peak wavelength is taken as 1, the absorbance at 570 nm is 0.35 or less.
