abstract A surgical suture made from resorbable synthetic polymer is formed from glycolide-trimethylene carbonate copolymer with a glycolide content greater than 76% by weight with a statistical distribution of the monomers. The suture material shows a complete loss of tensile strength within 9 to 21 days and is completely absorbed in vivo after 35 to 91 days.
