abstract | Prodn. of methoxycarbonylmethylene isopropylideneaminooxyacetate (I) without isolation of intermediates comprises: (a) converting acetone (II) with hydroxylammonium sulphate (III) and NaOH into acetone oxime (IV) in the presence of toluene and/or extracting (IV) from the reaction mixt. with toluene; (b) treating the toluene soln. with NaOH and removing H2O; (c) removing the toluene by distillation and replacing it with a dipolar aprotic solvent; (d) reacting the crystal mash obtd. with sodium chloroacetate (V) and then treating the reaction mixt. contg. sodium isopropylideneaminooxyacetate (VI) with methyl chloroacetate (VII); and (e) isolating (I) in a known manner. |
