Process of simultaneous removal of tumor necrosis factor and bacterial lipopolysaccharides from an aqueous solution |
abstract |
Removal of tumour necrosis factor- alpha (TNF- alpha ) and/or bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from an aq. fluid (esp. blood, blood plasma or serum) in an extracorporeal perfusion system involves the following stages (opt. after removal of corpuscular blood components): (a) adjusting the pH of the fluid to < 6; (b) adding a polyanion (I) as precipitant reagent; (c) filtering and/or centrifuging off the obtd. ppte.; and (d) passing the obtd. fluid over an anion exchanger (II). |
