titleOfInvention | Test medium for a microbiologic inhibitor substance test and process for carrying out the test |
abstract | The invention shows various possibilities for the improved detection of inhibitors, in particular veterinary drug residues, in foods of animal origin, for example milk, by means of a diffusion test method using a test medium which contains a test organism (test germ), a nutrient medium and an optical indicator (indicator). To improve the detection of sulfonamides, the test medium contains pyrimethamine in conjunction with a nutrient medium (e.g. Mueller-Hinton agar) that is free or largely free of sulfonamide and pyrimethamine antagonists. For improved detection, in particular of tetracyclines, the test medium contains at least one complexing agent with a high capacity and selectivity for the complexation of metal ions which impair the action of veterinary medicinal products and / or the germination of the spores. The complexing agent can be used as an inhibitor effect enhancer and / or as a germination accelerator. To improve the visual display, the test medium contains at least two indicators with different mechanisms of action (e.g. redox indicator and pH indicator). |
