A recording base sheet, with an image layer recorded by such a process as electronic photography, thermal transfer printing, ink-jet printing using hot-melt ink, or other printing processes, is impregnated with a chemical solution for promoting the removal of the image layer. As a result, the image layer swells and the adhesion of the image layer to the base sheet becomes weak. Then, the image layer is transferred to a stripper and removed from the base sheet. The application of the liquid is carried out in two or more steps so as to reduce the required quantity of the liquid, promote separation between the image layer and the base sheet, and increase the number of reuse of the recording base sheet. |
