Fluorinated aromatic nitro compounds are catalytically hydrogenated to fluorinated aromatic amines by the hydrogenation in the liquid phase and in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one metal or a metal compound from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt and the noble metals and in the presence of at least one sulfur compound of the formula R¹-S (O) n -R². Fluorinated aromatic amines thus obtained are particularly pure and contain particularly little defluorinated products. |
