The invention pertains to the use of constituents of plants of the genus Equisetum (horstail), in particular the species Equisetum arvense, for topical treatment of psoriasis, dirty skin, pimples, acne, burns, sun allergies, allergic contact skin diseases and dandruff; of muscle, tendon, ligament, joint and neuralgic pains including gouty pains, and of nail fungus, or to a corresponding method of treatment. Further, the invention pertains to a pharmaceutical composition of juice or extract of plants of the genus Equisetum in which these constituents are present in a concentration of 5-45 % by volume. |
