abstract |
The invention concerns a therapeutic appliance for the treatment of conditions of the heart (H) and, in particular, of blood vessels in the vicinity of the heart with therapeutic ultrasonic waves having a given radius of action (W). The appliance generates therapeutic ultrasonic waves of an intensity such that modification, in particular necrotization, is caused by thermal action in the body tissues lying within the radius of action (W) of the appliance. The appliance preferably includes an ultrasonic source (1) which can be used through the oesophagus. |
