The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of optically active compounds of the general formula wherein R is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, phenyl, benzyl or -NR 1 2nd R¹ is lower alkyl, phenyl, benzyl or hydrogen and * means an optically active center, characterized in that an enol derivative of ketoisophorone of the general formula where R has the meaning given above, asymmetrically hydrogenated in the presence of a rhodium complex of an optically active diphosphine ligand. |
