abstract | A method of separation in simulated moving bed is described, correcting the disturbances in the composition of an extract (EA), or of a raffinate (RB) due to the dead volume introduced by at least one pump (P) or a recycling compressor d '' a liquid, supercritical or gaseous mixture in a closed loop of columns. The method is characterized in that the flow rate of the recirculation pump or compressor regulated by the flow rate is increased by an appropriate value each time either the extract draw-off current (EA) is passed either that of the raffinate (RB), as the case may be, from a position immediately prior to a position immediately posterior to each of the dead volumes of the loop during the entire time that the extract or, as the case may be, the raffinate remains in the position immediately after the dead volume, and then the flow rate of the recycling pump or compressor is reduced when the extraction of extract or raffinate passes from the position immediately after the dead volume to the next position, so that said flow resume the value that would have been applied if the dead volume had been neglected.n n n Application to the separation of aromatic hydrocarbons with 8 carbon atoms. |
