abstract In a first recording mode for recording by discharging the ink of relatively large amount at a low resolution, liquid droplet discharging and recording conditions for the low resolution are set, while in a second recording mode for recording by discharging the ink of relatively small amount at a high resolution, a high resolution transformation process and a smoothing and thinning process are performed, and the liquid droplet discharging and recording conditions for the low resolution are set, wherein the recording control is performed in accordance with the recording mode which has been set.
