abstract Method for the production of polyurethanes and of expanded polyurethane foams consisting in the use of a two components formulation, in which the first component is a material having an hydroxylic content additioned with suitable additives as catalysts, surfactants, fillers, pigments and porogenic agents, and in which the second component is a compound containing two or more isocyanate groups. Said material having an hydroxylic content is formed either by a viscous liquid polyol and a solid powdered material of vegetal origin, or by the reaction product of propylene oxide with said solid powdered material of vegetal origin, in presence of a basic catalyst. Said material of vegetal origin is preferably formed by the dried exhausted pulps of the sugar beets.
