abstract |
Polysiloxane-polyoxyalkylene block copolymers of formula (I) are claimed as are also (i) prepn. of (I) by Pt-catalysed hydrosilylation of an organopolysiloxane with (a) 6-30C olefinically unsatd. hydrocarbons and (b) an appropriate mixt. of polyethers; and (ii) use of (I) as a hair cosmetic. R<1> = 1-4C alkyl or Ph, with at least 90% of R<1> being Me; R<2> = (a) as for R<1>; (b) a 6-30C residue obtd. by addn. of an olefinic hydrocarbon to the SiH gps. of a polysiloxane; or (c) -M.R<3> where M = -R<4>xO- with R<4> = alkylene and x = 0 or 1 and R<3> = a mixt. of polyether residues comprising at least (i) 1-4 mols. residue A of ave. Mw 600-5500 consisting of 20-100 wt.% EO and 80-0 wt.% PO units and (ii) e-1 mols. residue B of ave. Mw 700-5000 consisting of up to 20 wt.% EO units and 100-80 wt.% PO units, where up to 20 wt.% of the PO units in A and B can be replaced by oxybutylene units; b = 0-10; and a = 10-100 (when b = 0) or 3-70 (when b = up to 4) or 3-30 (when b = above 4); with the provisos that (1) the no. of R<2> gps. = (b) is 1-30 wt.% of the no. of Si atoms; and (2) an ave. (I) contains at least ZR<3> residues. |
