titleOfInvention Device for reshaping railway rails
abstract The rail re-shaper consists of a milling unit mounted beneath a railway vehicle (2), equipped with power cylinders (4,5,6) for adjusting its position vertically relative to the rail. A heater in front of the milling unit raises the temperature of the rail by several hundred degrees to facilitate the operation of the milling tools (24,24'). The rail heater (31) can be in the form of a high-frequency induction or laser beam unit. Behind the milling tools the rail re-shaper is equipped with a frame with a circulating coolant fluid. Each of the milling tools is mounted on a frame (8,9) by means of a sliding support, and has a suction or magnetic collector for the metal removed from the rail surface.
