Combinations of (a) taxol, taxotere, or their derivatives, with (b) a therapeutic substance are used in the treatment of neoplastic disorders. Pref., (b) is an alkylating agent, (esp. cyclophosphamide, ifosamide, melphalan, hexamethyl melamine, thiotepa, and dacarbazine), an anti-metabolite, (esp. 5-fluorouracil, cytarabin, methotrexate, idatrexate, and trimetrexate), a fusel poison (esp. a vinca alkaloid, their synthetic and semi-synthetic analogues, estramustine, and taxoids), an epidophyllotoxin, (esp. etoposide or teniposide), an antibiotic, esp. daunorubicin, doxorubicin, bleomycin, or mitomycin), an enzyme (esp. L-asparaginase), a topoisomerase inhibitor, (esp. camptothecin, CPT-11, topotecan, and pyridobenzoindole derivatives), procarbazine, mitoxantrone, platinum coordination complexes (esp. cisplatin and carboplatin), biological response modifiers and growth inhibitors, (esp. interferons and interleukins), and haematopoietic growth factors. The taxane derivative (a) may comprise 10-90% of the active materials. |
