A method for the detection of nitrotoluenes, in particular trinitrotoluene, dinitrotoluene and derivatives of nitrotoluenes, in soils, liquids and gases is proposed, a voltage being applied to an electrode which is in contact with an electrolyte solution containing a substance to be investigated, the voltage for generating a reduction reaction is reduced and then increased for generating an oxidation reaction, and the current strength of at least one base current and an anodic current maximum which is shown is determined in particular as a function of the applied voltage. |
