titleOfInvention Microbial process for the preparation of dihydroxyacetone
abstract The invention relates to a microbial process for the preparation of dihydroxyacetone in which the conversion of glycerol to dihydroxyacetone is carried out with the aid of a microorganism which has dehydrogenase activity at a pH between 3.8 and 4.8, preferably 4.2, which is kept constant by adding calcium hydroxide suspension. In a preferred embodiment, the glycerol content is kept constant at 1-3% by feeding in.
