The present invention relates to a golf ball having excellent shot feel, control properties and flying performance. The golf ball has a core and a cover for coating the core. A base resin of the cover comprises a mixture of the two resins, (A) (B). The Shore D-scale hardness and a stiffness of the cover are in the range of 40 to 55 and 130 to 300 MPa, respectively. Resin (A) is an ionomer resin obtained by neutralizing at least a part of carboxyl groups in a copolymer of an α-olefin and an α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid with a metal ion or a mixture thereof. Resin (B) is a low-hardness copolymer resin comprising an α-olefin, an α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester and a polymerizable monomer. |
