abstract In order to achieve a sufficiently good deflection and mixing of a flow medium with a very small space requirement in the flow channel, a combined mixing and deflection device with a guide arrangement (2, 14) and a flow channel (24) bent at a kink (26) is provided, whereby the guide arrangement (2, 14) is arranged in the region of the kink (26) of the flow channel, the plane (36) of the guide arrangement (2, 14) is approximately parallel to the direction that the flow channel (24) in the flow direction of the flow medium (30) after the kink (26) is aligned, and the guide arrangement (2, 14) has openings (12) which are uniformly distributed over the cross section of the flow channel (24). The invention is suitable for all liquid, gaseous flow media for deflecting and mixing the flow medium in a flow channel. <IMAGE>
