abstract | Process for the rapid production of a chewing gum devoid of wax and ready for consumption. This chewing gum is made from a base material free or practically free of wax. This material contains from 20 to 60% by weight of a synthetic elastomer, from 0 to 30% by weight of a natural elastomer, from 5 to about 55% by weight of an elastomer plasticizer, from about 4 to 40 % by weight of a filler, from about 5 to 40% by weight of a softener and, optionally, minimal amounts of various ingredients such as dyes, antioxidants, etc. These chewing gum compositions quickly soak during production and are quite tender from the start, while being produced with relative efficiency compared to analogous chewing gums containing waxes. |
