Polymer particles are produced which have a hydrophobic core and various surface-functional groups, including hydrophilic and chiral groups. They are obtained by adding a non-emulsified functional polymerizable monomer to the aqueous phase of a dispersion of soluble polymer particles swollen beforehand with an emulsified monomer, then by polymerizing the monomers. These particles are preferably in the form of uniform macropore drops. |
