titleOfInvention The use of 4-aminopyridine in the treatment of a neurological condition
abstract The use of 4-aminopyridine to treat neurological pathology is described. The invention relates in particular to the use of 4-aminopyridine to treat individuals suffering from a spinal cord injury. It has been found that 4-aminopyridine, when administered intravenously, in doses between about 18 and about 38 milligrams, can reduce pain and spasticity in an individual with spinal cord injury. The results obtained are very important when one considers the importance of the consequences of such problems and the refractory nature of the central pain from which individuals injured in the spinal cord suffer. 4-Aminopyridine is also used to increase sensory faculties and movement control.
