titleOfInvention | METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REGULATED IONTOPHORESIS. |
abstract | Controlled medium electrotransport methods are described. The methods relate to monitoring the ionic medium of the active electrode reservoir in an electrotransport system. This control can be used, for example, to maintain a constant presence of foreign ions, such as pH. This control can also be applied according to a preferred mode to maintain the selected control over the rate of delivery of a target species, over time, in the presence of foreign ions. In addition, an apparatus for electrotransport in a controlled environment is described. In general, the apparatus comprises an electrotransport system (5) including an active electrode reservoir (6) having a primary electrode (30) as well as a secondary electrode (50), a control assembly (40) intended to selectively operate the electrodes. The secondary electrode, which has a different operation from the primary electrode (30), is selected to operate so as to selectively improve or modify the presence of ions in the active electrode reservoir (6), so as to implement the general methods described. The apparatus may include an internal sensor (60) for use as a feedback to a control system (40) during operation. Finally, the invention relates to diffusion-type feeding methods and systems. |
