titleOfInvention Enantiomeric resolution of 4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-3,4-dihydro-1(2H)-Naphthalenone
abstract The sepn. of the enantiomers of 4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl) -3,4-dihydro-1(2H) -naphthalenone (I) comprises (a) contacting the enantiomers with a liq. mixt. of water and a solvent, this liq. contg. a substantially pure and unsupported binding substance (II) chosen from gamma-cyclodextrin, anionic poly-gamma-cyclodextrin, (2-hydroxypropyl) -gamma-cyclodextrin, gamma-cyclodextrin -phosphate sodium salt, succinylated gamma-cyclodextrin, octabis(2,3,6-tri-O -acetyl)-gamma-cyclodextrin and carboxymethyl -gamma-cyclodextrin, thus selectively binding one of the enantiomers to (II); and (h) sepg. (II) from the liq. mixt.. The enantiomers are soluble in the liq. mixt. to at least 1.0 mM and the solvent is chosen from alkanes, halogenated alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, ketones, nitriles, ethers, and/or esters and in chosen so that (II) is substantially insol. in the liq. mixt.
