abstract |
The invention relates to the use of type 1 insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1) in the production of a medicament for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus. subcutaneous administration, not greater than the dose necessary to obtain a serum IGF-1 level comparable to that of a healthy individual, i.e. a physiological substitute for serum IGF-1 . This treatment is of great interest for the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus in children or adolescents and can bring about improvements in growth during puberty. |
