abstract The invention describes novel anti-tumor and anti-viral compounds. Said compounds include 6-nitroso-1,2-benzopyrone, 3-nitrosobenzamide, 5-nitroso-1 (2H) -isoquinolinone, 7-nitroso-1 (2H) -isoquinolinone, 8-nitroso-1 (2H) -isoquinolinone. The invention also describes compositions containing one or more of said compounds, as well as methods of treating viral infections and cancer using said compounds and said compositions.
