abstract The instant invention is directed to an article of manufacture nfor absorbing liquids (10). This invention comprises: a superabsorbent nstructure (20); and a permeable means (30) for coating the superabsorbent nstructure. The superabsorbent structure comprises a superabsorbent npolymer mixed into a matrix material, the matrix material being nselected from the group consisting of cellulose ester, acrylic acid nester, polyvinyl ester, copolymers of the foregoing and ncombinations thereof. The permeable means is laminated onto the nsuperabsorbent structure.
