abstract The present invention relates to methods for measuring endogenous cytokines present in the blood. The method allows precise measurement of cytokines in the blood in the presence of substances that bind them. The prior art methods were unable to deliver precise results in this direction. We also describe the non-invasive measurement of cytokines present in biological fluids such as saliva and nasal secretions. Finally, the invention makes it possible to monitor the level of cytokines present in the blood during the treatment of a person or an animal using cytokines.
