abstract | New acid-substituted ternary acetal polymers consist of repeating units that include three six-membered cyclic acetal groups, one of which is unsubstituted or is substituted by an alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group, the other of which is substituted with an aromatic or heterocyclic moiety, and a third of which is substituted with an acid group, with an acid substituted alkyl group or with an acid substituted aryl group. These polymers are advantageously used in photosensitive compositions in combination with diazo resins. Such photosensitive compositions are particularly suitable for lithographic printing plates which can be developed using aqueous developing solutions. |
