An N-sulfonylated, six-membered nitrogenous aromatic carboxamide derivative represented by general formula (I), a process for producing the same, and a pest control agent containing the same as the active ingredient, wherein R¹ represents alkyl, alkenyl, etc.; R² represents hydrogen, alkyl, etc.; R³ and R⁴ may be the same or different from each other and each represents alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; and X and Y may be the same or different from each other and each represents methine or nitrogen. The derivative exhibits an excellent efficacy even at a low concentration against various diseases caused by algal phytopathogenic bacteria, in particular, downy mildew, and also can control the growth of weeds in lowland and upland fields. |
