titleOfInvention | Reagent mixtures for glucose assay |
abstract | The present invention relates to a test composition of a mixture of reagents comprising glucose oxidase and peroxidase and a chromogenic dye which interacts with hydrogen peroxide from the oxidation of blood glucose by glucose oxidase, characterized in that that glucose oxidase and peroxidase are present in proportions of 300 to 700 International Units (IUs) of glucose oxidase and at least 20 International Units of peroxidase, and in that the chromogenic dye is present in an amount of 12 to 20 grams of active chromogenic dye per 500,000 International Units of glucose oxidase. Preferably, the composition is loaded into a low molecular weight gelatin matrix and is impregnated into a micro-porous support membrane. |
