An improvement in raising of livestock and, in particular, hogs, by which a remarkable promoting effect on the growth rate or a remarkable decrease in the relative feed demand can be obtained by feeding the livestock with an oligopeptide, which is a partial enzymatic hydrolysis product of protein and, in particular, soybean protein comprising up to 10 or, preferably, 2 to 3 amino acid residues per molecule, blended with the feed in an amount of up to 0.5% by weight. Despite the remarkable body weight-increasing effect of the method on livestock such as hogs, the quality of the meat is improved by a decrease in the fat content. |
