Induction of ctl responses to foreign antigens expressed in mycobacteria |
abstract |
A method of inducing a reaction of cytotoxic T lymphocytes in an animal consists in administering to it mycobacteria transformed with at least one DNA sequence which encodes a protein or a peptide or else a fragment or derivative thereof which contains an epitope which is recognized by cytotoxic T cells. The mycobacteria are administered in an amount effective to induce a cytotoxic T cell response in an animal. In one embodiment, the transforming DNA sequence may encode an HIV protein or a fragment or derivative thereof. |
