Detection of glutaraldehyde |
abstract |
An indicator composition for detecting the presence of glutaraldehyde in wash water at concentrations of about 5 to about 20 ppm, comprises a sulphite and a pH indicator where the pH indicator is cresolphthalein. The ratio of sulphite to cresolphthalein is about 3:1 to about 5:1, and the composition is used in an amount such that the concentration of sulphite in the glutaraldehyde wash solution to be tested is about 0.6 mg.ml⁻¹ to about 1.4 mg.ml⁻¹. |
