abstract |
An anion exchange resin having a structure of a crosslinked copolymer comprising from 19 to 98 mol% of units of N-vinyl amine, amino groups of which may be alkylated by methyl groups or ethyl groups, from 0.1 to 60 mol% of units of divinylbenzene and from 0 to 60 mol% of units of other vinyl compounds copolymerizable therewith, said resin being spherical and having the following ion exchange capacity:n (1) an anion exchange capacity of from 8 to 22 meq/g when amino groups in the N-vinyl amine units are mainly primary amino groups; (2) an anion exchange capacity of from 3 to 16 meq/g when amino groups in the N-vinyl amine units are mainly secondary or tertiary amino groups; or (3) a salt splitting capacity of from 1.5 to 8.5 meq/g when amino groups; in the N-vinyl amine units are mainly quaternary ammonium groups. |
