BOMBESIN ANALOGS. |
abstract |
Agonists and a bombesin antagonist are derivatives of natural bombesin having a methyl sulfide or methyl amide bond connecting two amino acids on the carboxy terminus. The activities of the agonists and the antagonist are confirmed by the use of conventional biochemical assay methods using a competitive bond between two substances as well as conventional physiological tests and the use of these derivatives in various states. The use of these peptides consists of stimulating or opposing the growth of tissues, in particular of the lung, and comprises an element for implementing the treatment of digestive disorders. This treatment consists in administering to a patient in need an effective dose of a bombesin analog. |
