abstract Partial amino acid sequences are described for a rhamnogalacturonase (RGase) obtained using Aspergillus aculeatus, Aspergillus japonicus and Irpex lacteus. Likewise, a corresponding recombinant DNA sequence, a corresponding vector and a corresponding transformed host are described. The RGase produced by a transformed host can serve as an agent for degrading or modifying the walls of a plant cell.
