Absorbent, non-skinned foam and the method of preparation |
abstract |
A polyurethane foam is described comprising turns of connected passages and a porous and vesicular surface texture in three dimensions, and practically devoid of an external crust. An absorbent article comprising a substrate and at least one single layer of polyurethane foam is further described. The process for preparing the polyurethane foam consists in: a) coating a substrate (12) with a reactive mixture capable of reacting to form a polyurethane foam; b) immersing the coated substrate (12A) in a liquid bath (16) composed of water and a catalyst, for a period sufficient for the reaction of the reactive mixture to take place; and c) removing the coated substrate from the liquid bath. |
