abstract |
1- or 5-O-Mono- and 3,4-O-disubstituted quinic acid derivatives are prepared by reacting a derivative of a hydroxycinnamic acid, in which the hydroxyl group(s) is(are) protected, with a quinic acid derivative so as to form an ester and the protective groups are then cleaved under controlled acidity and temperature conditions. These controlled conditions make it possible to achieve a regiospecificity in the esterification and to avoid any degradation or isomerisation. The process makes possible the preparation of new quinides with a good yield. |
