abstract |
Control device (1) based on the absorbance of ultraviolet light and used for direct control of organic pollution of water on site. The device measures the reduction in ultraviolet light passing through a sample and also takes samples to provide information on the amounts of visible light absorbed and dispersed by the samples, respectively. The amount of organic matter is determined from the measurement of the reduction of ultraviolet light by means of a calculation in which the results of the other measurements are used for the purpose of compensation. The sampling apparatus (40) includes a floating sampling head (41) having an inlet (48) submerged below the water level (44). |
